The Sickos Stats Summary for Week 6

Welcome back to the Sickos Stats Summary for Week 5! If you missed the previous weeks and the explainer, this year at the Sickos Sentinel, we’re going to bring you something called the Sickos Stats Summary. It’s basically going to be weird stats on different things we found that we don’t think get a lot of attention. We will make some graphics every week and try to give you a few amounts of stats that are unconventionally appealing or things that don’t get highlighted much.
Do I know how many stats will be in each weekly post? Nope.
SAFETY ALERTS FOR WEEK 6
You know we love our safeties here. It’s a scoring play that's rare, and it leads to weird scores that you don’t see too often. So we want to shout out these teams that scored a safety. We were able to gather data from the FBS, FCS and DII. If we miss one in our data search, we’re sorry. It is not intentional, and sometimes the data is faulty.
WE DIDN’T HAVE ANY SAFETIES!! WHAT THE HELL!! WE HAD AN INSANE WEEK AND I COULDN’T FIND A SAFETY IN MY DATA SEARCH!! PLEASE TELL ME WE HAD SOME SAFETIES
Week 1 - 8-3 Record
Week 2 - 7-1 Record
Week 3 - 3-0 Record
Week 4 - 6-3 Record
Week 5 - 4-3 Record
Week 6 - 0-0 Record
28-10 Record on the Year if you score a safety
LONGEST NON-SCORING DRIVE OF THE WEEK - TIME OF POSSESSION

When Pitt and UNC get together, something is going to happen in the game that is completely ridiculous. Well here’s some statistical proof of it. North Carolina drove from their own 10 yard line in 19 plays and got all the way to the Pitt 9 yard line and faced 4th and 2. Instead of kicking the field goal to extend their 7-3 lead to 10-3 on Pitt, Mack Brown decided to go for it. The pass fell incomplete. Pitt then went 91 yards in 5 plays to take a 10-7 lead.
LONGEST SCORING DRIVE OF THE WEEK - TIME OF POSSESSION

I just beveled four different Vandy logos for this one because they earned it. A masterful drive by the ‘Dores to take a 20-7 lead on Alabama in the 2nd Quarter. This drive was that one that made us believe it the unthinkable could happen and as we all know it did. Alabama only had the ball for 17 minutes and 52 seconds in the game. This one Vandy drive was more than half of Bama’s time of possession in the entire game! Magnificent work Vandy!
LONGEST PUNT OF THE WEEK - FBS, FCS and DII

We had to look deep to find this punt this weekend but we found it in Rapid City, South Dakota! Connor Taylor of the South Dakota School of Mines booted an 81 Yard Punt in the first Quarter downed around the 3 yard line. Connor is also the Hardrockers Kicker and made 2 field goals on the day too! Congrats Connor, NICE PUNT!!
Thank you for reading! We are working on more data sorting to come up with more ridiculous stats to celebrate, so stay tuned. Also, feel free to suggest more ideas in the comments!
Also, we have some more stats coming! We will be rebranding a metric from last year to a newly better named one and then an all new stat to calculate the Spinach Team of the Week!
