The Sickos Stats Summary for Week 13!
Welcome back to the Sickos Stats Summary for Week 13!

If you missed the previous weeks and the explainer, this year at the Sickos Sentinel, we’re going to bring you something called the Sickos Stats Summary. It’s basically going to be weird stats on different things we found that we don’t think get a lot of attention. We will make some graphics every week and try to give you a few amounts of stats that are unconventionally appealing or things that don’t get highlighted much.
Do I know how many stats will be in each weekly post? Nope.
SAFETY ALERTS FOR WEEK 13
You know we love our safeties here. It’s a scoring play that's rare, and it leads to weird scores that you don’t see too often. So we want to shout out these teams that scored a safety. We were able to gather data from the FBS, FCS and sometimes DII***. If we miss one in our data search, we’re sorry. It is not intentional, and sometimes the data is faulty.

The weather got a little crazy this weekend, and we got a large amount of safeties. We had 10 in the data, and I feel like I missed one or two. This week had the most safeties since Week 1 of this year.
It was a mixed bag this week if you got a safety. Michigan was all over Northwestern and got one late fourth quarter. Tarleton State had a drive that went 9 Minutes and 10 Seconds for 86 yards, but they were stopped on the goal line, but then they got a safety! Pitt was down 37-7, but then they got a safety in the 4th Quarter to make it 37-9. San Jose State was playing UNLV in an atmospheric river, and they got a safety that was a loss of 47 YARDS due to the snap over the punter’s head, and then the punter couldn’t pick up the wet ball and basically smacked it out of the end zone.
Week 1 - 8-3 Record
Week 2 - 7-1 Record
Week 3 - 3-0 Record
Week 4 - 6-3 Record
Week 5 - 4-3 Record
Week 6 - 0-0 Record
Week 7 - 2-3 Record
Week 8 - 3-2 Record
Week 9 - 5-0 Record
Week 10 - 2-2 Record
Week 11 - 6-2 Record
Week 12 - 3-2 Record
Week 13 - 5-5 Record
54-26 Record on the Year if you score a safety
LONGEST NON-SCORING DRIVE OF THE WEEK - TIME OF POSSESSION

Louisville was up 37-9 on Pitt with 9:27 left in the game. The Cardinals decided this would be the last drive of the game for either team. They started on their own 6-yard line. Their 15-play drive only needed one third-down conversion to keep the drive alive. They made it all the way to the Pitt 13-yard line and kneeled out the game.
LONGEST SCORING DRIVE OF THE WEEK - TIME OF POSSESSION

Leading 21-17 the Bison took over on their 1 yard line on the last play of the 3rd Quarter. They proceeded to drive 20 play, 99 yards, in 10 minutes and 53 seconds converting three 4th downs (one they got due to a leaping penalty on a FG attempt). They got a 1 yard TD run with 4:10 left in the game to go up 28-17 and seemingly put the game out of reach. (Spoiler alert here)
Now, South Dakota didn’t let them and came back to win with 2 touchdowns in four minutes, The game winner came with 12 seconds left. Maybe this drive needed to take 12 more seconds?

LONGEST PUNT OF THE WEEK - FBS & FCS

Being a punter for a 1-11 team has got to be a tough job. You’re likely quite busy and possibly thankless. Well, we thank you, Andy Day, for providing us with the Longest Punt of the Week. Utah Tech was locked in a battle with their rival, Southern Utah. Andy’s 77-yard punt flipped the field late in the 4th Quarter and allowed Utah Tech to get prime field position to kick the game tying field goal at 31-31. Utah Tech did go on to lose 37-34 in a Double OT thriller, but remember, there is not any punting in Overtime.
Honorable Mention for Southeastern Louisiana Punter Alec Mahler for his 75 Yard Punt.
Thank you for reading! We are working on more data sorting to come up with more ridiculous stats to celebrate, so stay tuned. Also, feel free to suggest more ideas in the comments or yell at me if the data missed something so I can correct it!
