The Sickos Committee’s Weather Travel and Football Master Almanac Network aka the SCWTFMAN - The Coastal Athletic Association aka the CAA
Welcome to the Sickos Committee’s Weather, Travel & Football Master Almanac Network aka the SCWTFMAN.

Here at the SCWTFMAN we will attempt to forecast the upcoming 2024 college football season by using our Sickos Committee alert system. We’re going to do this in the Famer’s Almanac style. If you don’t know what a Farmers' Almanac is, basically it provides long-range weather predictions for both the U.S. and Canada. We will be applying our forecast to all of Division I in the United States. We’re trying to predict what the upcoming season holds for all Division I teams in college football using our Sickos Committee Weather Alert System.

First we will preview the 129 FCS teams in a conference by conference breakdown over the next coming weeks. Then we will get to the FBS.
Will these previews be long winded and incredibly in depth? No.
Will these previews be mostly based on “vibes” as assessed by the Sickos Committee weather forecasters? Yes.

Basically, we’re going to try to assess the team as a Sickos Warning, Watch or Advisory, give you their record last year, provide a little blurb about the team and for the FCS version to possibly advise you of any of their games against the FBS and interesting schedule tidbits. This year we’re also adding a conference specific thing but there isn’t a conference here!
For the Coastal Athletic Association, we decided to just give you the distance to the coast. Simple enough. Also, we got 16 teams here, strap in, this will be a long one.
Coastal Athletic Association

Albany
Where: Albany, NY
Last Year's Record: 11-4 (7-1 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Great Danes came out of nowhere last year, reaching the FCS semifinals after not winning more than 3 games in a season since 2019. A true Cinderella run for the ages.
Sickos Forecast: Watch - They’re projected to be near the top of the CAA again this year, but they’ll have to fight to win this jam packed conference.
Potential Sickos Game(s): at Idaho, September 14. UAlbany won in the Kibbie Dome in the FCS quarterfinals last year, knocking out the Vandals. They’ll have to give it their all for 2 in a row.
Distance to the Coast: About 146 miles south.
Bryant
Where: Smithfield, RI
Last Year's Record: 6-5 (4-2 Big South/OVC)
Why Should You Care: The Bulldogs move to the CAA for their 25th season of football, still looking for their first FCS playoffs appearance. They averaged 31 ppg last season, and the offense should be fun to watch again this year.
Sickos Forecast: Advisory - The Bulldogs were fine in the Big South, but this is a whole lot tougher of a conference, and will take time to adjust.
Potential Sickos Game(s): at Delaware, August 29. Hang with me here. Bryant begins its first CAA season facing the Blue Hens, kicking off their last CAA season. The matchup was scheduled before Bryant’s move though, so this is a non-conference game between two teams in the same conference on a Thursday night in week one.
Distance to the Coast: About 35 miles south/southeast.
Campbell
Where: Buies Creek, NC
Last Year's Record: 5-6 (4-4 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Fighting Camels had a solid first season in the CAA, and brought in a new head coach for this season. The schedule looks a bit easier this year, but the transition will be interesting. CAMEL STATUE!

Sickos Forecast: Watch - They were an offense-first team in 2023, but their new HC comes from a defensive background. Could get some funky results in his first year.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs NC Central, October 5. Campbell went to Durham last year and lost in a 49-48 OT thriller. They host the Eagles this time around, and will be out for revenge.
Distance to the Coast: About 96 miles southeast.
Delaware
Where: Newark, DE
Last Year's Record: 9-4 (6-2 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Blue Hens are making the jump to Conference USA in 2025, leaving this as their last year at the FCS level. They’ve made back-to-back playoff appearances, and should have a quality bunch this year as well.
Sickos Forecast: Warning - Due to transitioning to FBS, Delaware is ineligible for the FCS playoffs, so they’re playing more for pride and a conference title than anything. PLAY SPOILER BLUE HENS, LEAVE IN A BLAZE OF GLORY AND PATH OF DESTRUCTION!!

Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Penn, September 21. The Sickos believe that Delaware is just part of Big Pennsylvania, but if they can take down the state’s namesake school, a solid Ivy League team last season, we may just reconsider…
Distance to the Coast: About 70 miles southeast.
Elon
Where: Elon, NC
Last Year's Record: 6-5 (6-2 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Phoenix are more than capable of punching above their weight, as they beat top-5 teams last season, taking down then #5 William & Mary at home in October and winning at then #5 Delaware in November.
Sickos Forecast: Watch - Elon rarely gets blown out, and can put up a fight against basically anyone. Don’t write this team off.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Western Carolina, September 14. These teams played every year from 2003-2013, but this is their first meeting since. The two played very similar styles last year, and this should be a close one.
Distance to the Coast: About 161 miles southeast.
Hampton
Where: Hampton, VA
Last Year's Record: 5-6 (3-5 CAA)
Why Should You Care: We love our HBCU’s in the Sickos Committee, and Hampton is one of 2 in the CAA. All of their non-conference games are against fellow HBCU’s, and should have some great environments.
Sickos Forecast: Advisory - The Pirates parted ways with their former head coach at the end of April, and are going with an interim for this season. We just hope their team can function well in the transition.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Howard, September 21. These 2 play in the “Battle of the Real HU” each year, and last year’s contest was a 35-34 thriller to give Hampton its 7th straight series win. It’s also a neutral site game, played at Audi Field in DC.
Distance to the Coast: About 21 miles east.
Maine
Where: Orono, ME
Last Year's Record: 2-9 (1-7 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Black Bears are a tough team for anyone to face on the road due to distance alone. They also are a decent bet for at least one snow game a year, and who doesn’t love those?

Sickos Forecast: Warning - Maine has a schedule with a lot of tossups this year, and could realistically go anywhere from 0-11 to 6-5, so keep an eye on this bunch. Also, last year they broke out a trick play where they tossed a Flea Flicker in their own end zone.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Bryant, November 9. Two New England schools face off late in the season in possibly Bryant’s best shot at a conference win. Will Maine have enough to beat the rookies?
Distance to the Coast: About 60 miles south.
Monmouth
Where: West Long Branch, NJ
Last Year's Record: 4-7 (3-5 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Hawks enter their 32nd season of football, and have had the same head coach for all 32 Kevin Callahan’s offense is always dynamic, and this year should be no different.

Sickos Forecast: Warning - Lots of offense and a suspect defense are a fantastic combo, and Monmouth can turn pretty much any matchup into a shootout.
Potential Sickos Game(s): At Eastern Washington, August 30. Monmouth travels about 2200 miles to play on the red turf to start the season. Both teams come off 4-7 years, and both averaged 32 PPG… this one sounds incredibly sickos.
Distance to the Coast: About 1.5 miles east, the most coastal CAA school.
N.C. A&T
Where: Greensboro, NC
Last Year's Record: 1-10 (0-8 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Aggies are coming off a transition year in 2023, their first with a new head coach and in a new conference. Their last 4 losses were by an average of 8.25 points per game, so they started to figure things out by the end of the year.
Sickos Forecast: Watch - They were very competitive to end last season, and despite a tougher schedule, they should be able to make an improvement this season.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Hampton, October 19. The only 2 HBCUs in the CAA face off for NC A&T’s homecoming game. The atmosphere will be fantastic, and a close game should be in store as well.
Distance to the Coast: About 169 miles south southeast.
New Hampshire
Where: Durham, NH
Last Year's Record: 6-5 (4-4 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Wildcats are a blast to watch on offense, placing third in FCS last year in scoring at 37.5 ppg. Their starting QB in 2023 transferred to Minnesota, but the offense shouldn’t fall off too much.
Sickos Forecast: Warning - Placing top 3 in scoring and only having a 6-5 record is very sickos, and plenty of shootouts should be in store once again.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Monmouth, November 9. The top two offenses in the CAA last year face off in a game that could be pivotal in the final conference standings.
Distance to the Coast: About 14 miles southeast.
Rhode Island
Where: Kingston, RI
Last Year's Record: 6-5 (4-4 CAA)
Why Should You Care: HC Jim Fleming has turned the Rams program around, as they have had 5 winning seasons in the past 6 years, their only winning seasons since 2001!

Sickos Forecast: Warning - 5 of URI’s last 6 games in 2023 were decided by one score, and with how tight the middle of this conference usually is, expect some chaos.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Brown, October 12. The 42nd edition of the Governor’s Cup will see the Rams try and win their 6th straight in the rivalry. Last year was a 34-30 thriller, this could be more of the same.
Distance to the Coast: About 6 miles southeast.
Richmond
Where: Richmond, VA
Last Year's Record: 9-4 (7-1 CAA)
Why Should You Care: Richmond went 2-3 in September last season, then ran the table to make their second straight FCS playoff appearance. This is their last season in the CAA before they head for the Patriot League.
Sickos Forecast: Advisory - The Spiders have been a consistently strong program for years now, and should be in good shape to head back to the playoffs. Warning - for Richmond mascot WebstUR.

Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Delaware, October 19. Both these teams will be leaving the conference come season’s end, and this should be a tight final matchup between 2 FCS powerhouses.
Distance to the Coast: About 96 miles east/southeast.
Stony Brook
Where: Stony Brook, NY
Last Year's Record: 0-10 (0-8 CAA) - Bevel em!

Why Should You Care: The Seawolves have fallen upon hard times, with 2023 replacing 2022 (2-9) as the worst season in program history. They bring in a new HC in Billy Cosh, and can only go up from here.
Sickos Forecast: Advisory - 9 of Stony Brook’s 10 losses last year were by double digits, and frankly, we’re just rooting for them to get back in the win column this year.
Potential Sickos Game(s): at Bryant, November 2. These two were picked at the bottom of the CAA coaches poll this season, and this could be the Seawolves’ best chance for a win all year.
Distance to the Coast: About 16 miles south/southeast.
Towson
Where: Towson, MD
Last Year's Record: 5-6 (4-4 CAA)
Why Should You Care: The Tigers are nothing if not consistent, having anywhere from 4-7 wins each season since 2014. This is their second season under HC Pete Shinnick, can they finally turn a corner? Shout out to Johnny Unitas Stadium.

Sickos Forecast: Warning - The CAA is such a packed conference that one win can be the difference between a top 6 finish or outside the top 10. Expect plenty of toss-ups. *insert coin-flip noise*
Potential Sickos Game(s): at Monmouth, October 26. Last time Towson traveled to Monmouth, they survived to win a 52-48 thriller. If this is anything like that game, we’re in for some fun.
Distance to the Coast: About 98 miles east/southeast.
Villanova
Where: Villanova, PA
Last Year's Record: 10-3 (7-1 CAA)
Why Should You Care: When Nova is clicking, they’re really hard to beat, as 8 of their 10 wins last year were by 20 or more points. They ran into the buzzsaw that is SDSU in the playoffs and hung tough, now they are hungry for more.
Sickos Forecast: Advisory - They had a lot of blowouts last season, and should be in prime contention for the conference title this season.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Youngstown State, August 29. The Wildcats beat the Penguins in the FCS playoffs last year, and get to host the revenge match on a Thursday night to kickoff the season.
Distance to the Coast: About 68 miles southeast.
William & Mary
Where: Williamsburg, VA
Last Year's Record: 6-5 (4-4 CAA)
Why Should You Care: Mike London has turned the Tribe around, as W&M has had 3 straight winning seasons after not having any since 2015. While last year didn’t match their 11-2 record in 2022, they’re still on the upswing
Sickos Forecast: Watch - Their defense has been quite strong for a few seasons now, and they play some of the most physical football of any FCS team.
Potential Sickos Game(s): vs Elon, November 9. These 2 have played each of the last 5 seasons, and all but 1 have been 1-score games, including a 5-overtime thriller in 2019.
Distance to the Coast: About 46 miles southeast.
