Katie's Ann Arbor Adventure
Hello y’all, Commish here. I noticed our resident committee member Katie frequently travels to different college football destinations throughout the season for a weekend game. You may remember Katie from some appearances’ on our podcast as a Florida State fan, and she was also our correspondent at the Pop-Tarts Bowl. She took the viral photo of Strawberry, as seen here below.

I asked Katie to write up something small about her more recent travels with her friends, including another one of our Pop Tart Bowl correspondents, Melanie. It’ll be like a food and travel blog with some CFB mixed in. I’ll let Katie take it over from here. Enjoy!
My Ann Arbor Adventure
Hi pals - it’s your fave Pop-Tart/FSU correspondent with a field report from beautiful Ann Arbor, where I attended the Oregon at Michigan game with a few friends (we pick a new stadium we’ve never been to every year for a CFB girls trip).
We headed straight into Ann Arbor on Friday when we landed for lunch at Zingerman’s, which was recommended by lots of folks (including my Twitter pal, Gordon (@gord93 - shoutout because he provided so much helpful info!) The wait was a bit long (about an hour), BUT the sandwiches were DELISH.

We explored campus after lunch, which is gorgeous in the fall. Props to Michigan for giving us Floridians proper fall weather!
We had a fancy dinner at Chop House on Friday evening, and yes, it was boujee but also SO GOOD. The Chop House Martini was DIVINE.

On Saturday morning, we headed to the Stray Hen for breakfast (and maybe made a target stop for scarves and gloves because the Floridians panicked about the cold). The Stray Hen was awesome, and we raised Alex Kirshner’s fries for the table with pancakes for the table (they were heavenly).

After our breakfast (which really turned into brunch because we didn’t get seated until about 11:30), we headed toward State Street to soak up the vibes. We caught some of the ugly battle between Ohio State and Penn State at Ashley’s, a perfect college town pub.
We then continued down State Street to catch the band as they made their way into the stadium. Please note that I did refrain from screaming JAIL TO THE VICTORS when they played Hail to the Victors. Also, I LOVE all college bands.

The Big House is honestly really easy to navigate, and we had great seats in the south end zone. Michigan fans are lovely and showed tremendous restraint, with a few taunting Oregon fans in our section. A wonderful stadium experience.

My favorite moment of the trip was after the game, when I asked these two decked out Oregon fans for a pic. They immediately asked my name, and then proceeded to make a “Katie Sandwich.” Way to bring the team spirit, Oregon!

After the game, we headed down Main Street to grab a bite at the Jolly Pumpkin, which was also lovely (sadly, I don’t have any pictures because I was too tired to remember to take them… but it was great!).
We grabbed a quick bite and coffee on Sunday morning at Sweetwater before heading to the airport to catch the São Paulo Grand Prix before our flight (ALWAYS NEED TO SEE THE CARS GO VROOM, VROOM).
Ann Arbor was the perfect fall escape for the Floridians. Thanks for a great weekend, Michigan!
